Bus Trip to World Dairy Expo

Join the Northeast Iowa Dairy Foundation for the annual one-day bus trip to World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wis., on Friday, Oct. 4.

Friday’s event highlights at World Dairy Expo include the International Guernsey Show, International Red & White Show, International Holstein Heifer Show, forage seminars and virtual farm tours. Attendees will have ample time to watch the dairy cattle shows and visit with more than 800 exhibitors from around the world at the trade show.

This year, an optional tour of the dairy facilities at University of Wisconsin-Madison has been added to the trip. Those interested will depart World Dairy Expo in the afternoon and tour the Dairy Cattle Center and enjoy ice cream at Babcock Hall. The Dairy Cattle Center is a teaching farm where cows are housed in a tie-stall barn and milked in a parlor. The farm is used for teaching purposes, primarily for the short course program.

Dairy farmers, industry members and any others interested are welcome to register for the trip. Cost to travel on the bus is $25 for lifetime members of the Dairy Foundation and $50 for non-members. The cost includes transportation, breakfast, admission into World Dairy Expo and supper. The bus will depart from Iowa’s Dairy Center south of Calmar at 6 a.m. on Friday morning and will return around 8:30 p.m. that evening. Pick-up locations also include Postville and Prairie du Chien, Wis. Act fast, the trip is limited to the first 35 who sign up.
